How to advertise in Telegram channels
· 7 min
Telegram ads are affordable and reach a precise audience, but the wrong channel or weak copy wastes the budget. Here is a process that works.
1. Define the goal
What is the ad for: sales, subscribers, leads or an event invitation? The goal shapes the channel choice, the copy and how you judge the result.
Write down the audience age and interests in advance. That is why goal and audience age are required when creating an ad.
2. Choose the channel carefully
The number of subscribers matters less than real activity. Check:
- How many views posts get relative to subscribers (average reach). Many subscribers but few views can mean a dead channel.
- Whether the topic fits your product: a restaurant ad works in a food channel, an education ad in a study channel.
- Ad density: if several ads run daily, yours gets lost.
- Whether the channel is verified. On AdShare the bot must be an admin, the owner is verified and the channel passes moderation: more about safety.
3. Pick a format
On Telegram an ad usually runs as a post. AdShare has two formats: 1/24 (pinned at the top for 1 hour, 24 hours in the feed) and 2/48 (pinned for 2 hours, 48 hours in the feed). Use 1/24 for short promotions and 2/48 for a longer offer. More: Telegram ad formats.
4. Write the copy
A good ad post has one idea, one offer and one call to action. The first line should hook and the end should name a clear action (follow the link, sign up). If writing is hard, AI drafts a script from your idea. The rules are in how to write ad copy.
5. The link and measuring results
Measure results by people who clicked through, not by views. AdShare gives each order its own tracking link: bots are filtered and repeat visits are not counted. Payment is also based on unique visits, explained in how ad pricing works.
A channel checklist
Spend five minutes checking before you order. It is the step that saves the most budget.
- Whether views on the last 5-10 posts are steady or one post stands far above the rest.
- Whether posts get reactions and comments: a sign of a live audience.
- How long the channel has been run regularly: a channel active for several months is more reliable.
- Audience location: if you serve Uzbekistan, the channel should target that region too.
- The number of ad posts: how many ads ran in the last week.
- Topic fit: how close the channel’s own content is to your product.
How to split the budget
If this is your first campaign, split the budget across 2-3 suitable channels instead of one and test them with the same copy. That lets you compare channels: which one brought more visits.
On AdShare each order has its own link, so every channel’s result is visible separately. Next time put more budget on the best channel and drop the weak ones. Because payment follows results (currently 1 000 UZS per visit), the risk of testing is small.
Choosing the publication time
Audiences are often more active after work or at weekends, but it differs per channel. The most reliable way is to ask the channel owner at what hours posts get the most views. With the 1/24 format the post stays pinned at the top for the first hour, so the peak activity time matters even more.

How to read your campaign results
Once the ad is live, the key question is whether it worked. Look at three numbers in order. First, visits: how many unique people opened the link. Second, what they did next: a sign-up, a lead or a purchase on your site or bot. Third, the cost per action: the amount spent divided by the number of actions.
For example, you got 150 visits and 6 people left a request. That is about 4 percent conversion. At 1 000 UZS per visit, one request costs roughly 25 000 UZS. Compare that figure with the profit a customer brings you. If the profit is high, scale the campaign up; if it is low, improve the text or the landing page and test again.
Common advertiser mistakes
- Running an ad without a tracked link: you cannot measure visits and will not know which channel worked.
- Too many offers in one post: the reader does not know what to do. One post, one action.
- A landing page that loads slowly on mobile: most Telegram users are on phones, and slow pages lose visits.
- Judging by the first result: a single post can be a fluke. Test at least 2-3 channels or 2 text variants.
- An ad that does not match the channel topic: a construction offer in a fashion channel rarely converts.
- Slow follow-up: even with good traffic, leads leave if you reply late.
Where to go next
To understand how the price is formed, read how ad pricing works. If writing the text is the hard part, use the formulas in how to write ad copy. If you also want to earn as a channel owner, see how to earn from a Telegram channel. The service itself is described on the Telegram advertising page, and payment safety is explained on the secure payments page.
Common mistakes
- Choosing a channel only by low price
- Packing several offers into one post
- An ad without a link or contacts
- Repeating an ad without tracking results
- Ignoring timing: pick hours when the audience is active
